My Story
With a background in communication arts and design, psychology, and marketing, I worked in the corporate world for over twenty years. After having a child and needing more flexibility, I started a prosperous career in Real Estate as I raised my son. When it was time for him to leave home to go to college, I felt my main purpose in life walk out that door. Unprepared for the feelings that overwhelmed me over the next several months, I felt lost. I didn't know myself anymore. My focus had been on my family's needs and business success, and I didn't even know what brought me joy or made me happy anymore. My role as a mother would continue, but I knew I was a driven person and had to find a new purpose in my life.
A longtime friend of mine recommended I look into becoming a life coach. I have always enjoyed helping others, and she felt that with my personality combined with my background and training, this career field would be a great fit for me. During my research, the more I learned about being a life coach, the more I knew this was the right path and purpose for me. I took classes and became a certified life coach through the Life Purpose Institute in San Diego. I have never regretted that decision. Not only do I have fun getting to know my clients, but I also get excited about helping them feel good about themselves again. I love supporting them as they realize their inner strengths while accomplishing new goals or developing their new vision or purpose.
It is difficult to focus on yourself and your needs when you are dedicating so much time to others. My focus was on my family's happiness; there was little time left for my own needs or introspection. I am now better able to give to others because I have become a healthier version of myself with a renewed purpose. I want to help other women over 50 who are going through a tough time or who need to rediscover who they are so they can find joy in their lives once again.
